Setup walkthrough

Access Nexus Market with Tor

Install Tor, open a current onion, create an account, then fund it. Addresses are kept on home and mirrors so this page can stay focused on the steps.

What you need

Tor Browser

Required for .onion sites

Current onion

From home or mirrors

BTC or XMR

For deposits after register

PGP (recommended)

Encrypt shipping details

Step-by-step access

1

Download Tor Browser

Get Tor only from torproject.org for Windows, macOS, Linux, or Android. Skip third-party “Tor” installers.

2

Install and connect

Install, launch, click Connect. If your network blocks Tor, open Settings → Connection and enable bridges (obfs4 is fine for most cases).

3

Open a Nexus onion

Copy an address from home or the full list on mirrors. Paste it into Tor’s address bar. Bookmark it once it loads.

If the page stalls, try another mirror or follow connection troubleshooting before assuming a long outage.

4

Pass the entry screens

Expect DDoS waiting, then an antibot captcha, then the login form. Those layers are normal on Nexus. Screenshots below show the usual sequence.

5

Register

On the login page, choose Register:

  • Username with no tie to your clearnet identity
  • Strong unique password (password manager helps)
  • Captcha, then enable 2FA
  • Add a PGP public key when you can
6

Fund the wallet

Wallet → deposit:

  • Monero (XMR) — better payment privacy
  • Bitcoin (BTC) — easier to buy, public chain history

Escrow and Physical/Digital modes are explained on how Nexus works.

OPSEC habits

Do

  • Use Tor only for .onion work
  • Encrypt shipping details to the vendor’s key
  • Unique usernames and passwords per market
  • Enable 2FA; store backup codes offline
  • Prefer Monero when privacy matters
  • Consider Tails for a harder amnesic setup
  • Bookmark onions from this resource

Don’t

  • Use real names, emails, or reused passwords
  • Open onions in Chrome/Firefox clearnet profiles
  • Send plaintext shipping addresses
  • Finalize early unless you already trust that vendor
  • Deposit straight from a KYC exchange into the market wallet
  • Share 2FA codes with “support” in DMs

Need an address?

This guide stops at the workflow. Grab onions from home or the mirror list.
